Junior Composers Deadline Approaching!

 

Dear IFMC teachers,

 

Hopefully you all had some time off over the holidays to rest and recharge your batteries as we head into the festival season. As you work with students to put the final touches on their performances, I want to let you know that the website for entries into the Junior Composers Contest is now open. The deadline for entries is February 2, 2023.

 

When you are ready to submit your entries, you need to have your pdf of the composition and an audio recording ready. Make sure you know which class your student should be entering. That information can be found at this link:

Then, go to this link - https://forms.nfmc-music.org/forms/ Click on "Junior Composers Awards"

Click on the correct class. This will take you to an online form where you will enter student information as well as upload the pdf and the audio recording.

This should send the entry directly to me. That said, I have absolutely no problems if you want to send me a quick message at musichillstudios@gmail.com in order to let me know that you have entered your student(s) and that you want to confirm that I received their entry. In fact, please feel free to contact me at any step of the process of submitting the entry. We want students to enter, we want compositions to get sent to the correct place so I can forward them on to the judges.

 

Please make sure that the "current teacher" field is correct and that your email is correct in the submitter information. Just as in previous years, comments will be sent to teachers to  distribute to students so it is very important that I have the correct address for communication with teachers.

 

You will then need to go to the PAYMENT page which can be found here: https://www.nfmc- music.org/payment/ Select "Competition Entry Fee" in the first entry field. Unit cost will be $20 including the cup fee or $15 if you are not earning cup points.

You do NOT need to do anything in Vivace for this contest.
